Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Governor Abdul Nazeer announced that there will be no increase in electricity charges in the state for the year 2025-26. In his speech during today's Assembly session, the Governor revealed that free rooftop solar installations will be provided to 20 lakh SC/ST families. He also announced the solarization of agricultural feeders to ensure that farmers receive 9 hours of free electricity during the daytime.

Regarding electricity charges in Andhra Pradesh, the Governor stated that the government is balancing both aspects and moving forward. He mentioned that the people had taught a lesson to the previous government with their votes, explaining that the former government failed in all areas and financially harmed the state. He shared that seven white papers had been released regarding the state’s financial situation. The Governor further highlighted that the per capita income of the people has increased this year compared to last year, and he emphasized that development and welfare go hand in hand, with the government ensuring a balance between both.

Governor Abdul Nazeer also mentioned that Andhra Pradesh is progressing towards an AI revolution, with special efforts being made to promote industrialization.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Budget session has been adjourned until tomorrow. The Governor addressed both houses of the legislature amidst protests by YSRCP members. After a brief period of protests, the YSRCP members staged a walkout. Following their departure, the Governor's speech continued, and after the speech, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, the Assembly Speaker, and the Legislative Council Chairman escorted the Governor to his vehicle, bidding him farewell. The session was then adjourned until tomorrow.
